Here is a solution for you that may help, and may be a bit less expensive than some actual items that are made for the kitchen. Look in the garden department of any major store at the metal trellises which are made to have roses, and other plants "climb: on them.

They come in various dimensions, and you can measure the space that you want to use, and pick out want you need from there. You will need to know where the support studs are in your wall, so that you can attach the trellis properly. If you do not know this, you can purchase a stud finder in the hardware department which can help you; or check with the code office in your area.

You can purchase weight bearing hooks in Home Depot and other hardware stores and attach them into the studs, hang the trellis onto the hooks, put on some s hooks that will fit your pan handles, and you are all set. These trellises can range from thirty to one hundred dollars. I have also seen this done with a decorative fireplace screen and a metal garden gate.

You may also want to check out any antique stores in your area for the trellis itself, as many older ones would be heavier metal that some that is produced today which could be a factor if you have heavyweight cookware.

You can actually weigh the cookware on a household scale so that you can approximate the amount of weight you will be putting on the rack. It sounds silly, but it works. I have done this before, and then added additional weight onto that number just to be sure.

I had the misfortune of making the bad choice of using hooks that came with a ceiling mount pot rack years ago, and having the whole thing come falling out of the ceiling with about 75 pounds of cookware; and vowed never to have that happen again. That was a tough and loud lesson. No one was hurt, so that is what counts.

Hope this gives you some choices, and happy cooking!

Try a specialty kitchen shop,..... Ming-Wo, Contented Kitchens,........... possibly Linens-n-Things, HomeSense, Winners........... if none of those work, try a restaurant supply wholesaler.

If they won't sell to you directly, talk to the manager of a restaurant that you frequent and see if they can order for you.

Oh yeah, don't forget to check salvage dealers. When restaurants do a reno, the stuff ends up at a recycle depot often.

you may not be able to find a grid, but Overstock.com has a lot of units that hang from the ceiling at really good prices - I asked for one for christmas. They are an amazing space saver!

Kitchen Kaboodle. Uors cost about $200 each they are about 3' each. If you don't have one near you, I am sure they have a web site. I think I looked up for our second one. A black one may be less. good luck.
