Let me ask you this.
Are you going to use lead paint?
Are you using enamels?
Are you painting with added chemicals?
Are you painting with shellac?
Are you painting with oil based paints?
Are you using lacquor?
If any of these answers are yes, then the answer to you is yes.
But if you are using 100% latex (Arcylic) then the answer to your question is no.
Latex paint is water bourne , it has a small odor but is safe to most anyone or anything that doesn't have a allergic reaction to latex

Paint will take different lengths of time to dry depending on the climate that you live in. Most paint companies will include drying time on their cans or containers. I have pets also, and have generally used the two day rule with them.
Most interior paint is latex (water) based and takes two hours to dry between coats, once I have completed the final coat, I will let two full days pass before reintroducing them to the painted area. I live in a fairly humid climate, and want to be sure that everything is completely dry before letting any child, cat, or dog back into the area.
I actually asked my animals vet about this, and that is what he recommended. If you are using oil based paint you will need to allow more time. If you check with your vet in your area, they may be able to help you out. Good luck and happy decorating.

you don't need to worry about odor from paint harming your pets. todays latex paints are low odor. i just painted an interior of a house for a lady who has dogs and cats and all went well. if you use oil based paints then i would open windows to allow air flow but otherwise you'll be fine.

They are fine to be home now, just put them in a separate room while you are painting until the paint dries so they don't get paint on them. Besides that, they are fine. If you can breathe it, they can!!

Your fortunate that everywhere you reside they simply value a cost. I truthfully have been searching for an apartment for months and NONE of them take pets...era! i don't comprehend what form of terrible and disgusting people stay in my area yet for sure they don't shelter their pets good and is why landlords are actually not accepting them. i don't comprehend the way you enable your infants behave...my toddler is 5 and has in no way been damaging in any respect. i assume it truthfully relies upon on the mothers and dads.
