Hi, I am looking for different ways of removing thick unsightly artex! Some idiot plastered it over 70% of our house, wallas and ceiling using a tennis ball to create swirls (according to a local plasterer!) Now we want rid of it, we can't really use a wallpaper steamer as most of the surfaces are stud walls (we tried this and ended up with blown plaster on 2 walls!)

Any ideas? is there anything available to remove this stuff? or is it gonna boil down to using a chisel!!

Many thanks

I am looking into buying a house, but it does not have a garage. I want to see how much of an investment it will be to build one and if that is cheaper than having to rewire and change out a fuse box for a breaker box that is in another house we are interested in.

I want a plywood floor in my kitchen, painted with a pattern of fallen leaves. I want to use a rubber stamp so that I don't have to paint each individual leaf. The stamps I've seen on line cannot be used with latex paint so I need to make my own. Is this possible? Where would I get a blank? Or does anyone know a source for a life-sized oak leaf stamp?

This would be placed directly on new subfloor with the old flooring having already been removed and all prep work having been done. The floor is clean and ready to install with me buying the flooring from another vendor. It is made to look like wood flooring, if that matters. I also have the padding that goes under it.

How can precisely mix, for example, green and white interior wall paint to get a tone that I like? Is it just "try until you're satisfied" or is there some other way?

I don't want to hire anyone, I want to do it myself.

How much does mold/moisture-resistant or paperless drywall cost uninstalled? I am trying to decide what type to use and I want something mold-resistant with score of 10 on the ASTM D3273 test. I do not need installation cost. Also anyone had this type of drywall put in their home?

How do I go about painting it? I would prefer to give it a white wash. Can I use normal emulsion? It needs to be done before Sunday, new carpet being laid!

Scratch resistant?
Did you install it? Was it difficult?
Value for price?

These windows are too high to reach without a ladder that extends. I thought maybe there is something out there that will help, as there is for changing high light bulbs.

I gave away all my good furniture that I had from my parents to my children. I now have old cast off furiture from other people. The advantage is it would be very easy to replace if I had a fire or other problem. Clearing my house will be easy when I die as nothing of value can go directly in the skip. Not having expensive things also means a burgerlar would not take the trouble to break in.

I'm really confused about where exactly I should place my money frog in my cubical. Some say I should place it directly in line of my door so when people come in, it'll be right there. Others say I should place it diagnally from the door, others say place it under my desk..anyone know?

There is an existing pipe in the floor from a bathroom that was eliminated on the main floor, it was just cut off and capped just below main floor level. What is the easiest and most cost effective way to be able to use this pipe for a toilet in the basement bathroom

It is a wooden holder with two small glass canisters in it. The opening for them is about 2'' and they are see-through. The lids don't have seals so I don't really want to use them for food. But I don't really know what to use them for.
