I want to purchase some swarovski crystals, but they state that there are minor flea bites. How and why does it get there and what will they do to the swarovski crystals eventually?

In doing my own research,,, which I'm surprised you didn't do, I find that flea bites are imperfections, and are minute indentations/voids in a piece.

Since Crystal is a natural substance I suspect anyone should accept that FLAWS are a natural occurence as well.

I suspect you should continue "shopping" although I applaud the seller for stating flaws up front.

Perfection is relative and subjective, though we should all strive for it, and then at some point define it and accept and tolerate it in degrees.

Flea bites? That's a strange one. Swarovski crystals are the best crystals in the world so they do not have a lot of flaws in them if any. I have never seen a flawed swarovski crystal and I actually worked for a company that made their products- the faberage eggs, jewerly and such. I have never heard of that and I am not sure why someone would state that. Swarovski has their own website as well so you could look them up.

Fleas can't bite crystals! They just say that, meaning very small dings or nicks, most likely from improper handling of the crystal. As long as you handle it with great care, nothing more will happen to it. You may want to contact Swarovski, I'm not sure but maybe they can't fix it, by cutting it down a little.

Swarovski does have some beautiful crystal figures. One of my favorites is the Cinderella figure with a pink slipper.

Swarovski is a company that makes some of the finest crystalware in the world. I am not sure what flea bites are, but I would assume they are some type of imperfection or flaw that makes them slightly less valuable. This is only a guess, so you might want to wait until someone answers before deciding what they are.

Yes flea bites mean that there are small imperfections that the human must have caused due to mishandling of the pieces. All Swarovski items flawless from Swarovski. They should be handled with utmost care and with the proper Swarovski Gloves. These gloves protect the crystal from your fingerprints and/or from any damage from your fingernails.
