I want a plywood floor in my kitchen, painted with a pattern of fallen leaves. I want to use a rubber stamp so that I don't have to paint each individual leaf. The stamps I've seen on line cannot be used with latex paint so I need to make my own. Is this possible? Where would I get a blank? Or does anyone know a source for a life-sized oak leaf stamp?

If the leaves are small enough, use potatoes.
Or there are sheets of rubber at craft stores where you can make something bigger and more permanent.
Or there are stencils online. (There are oak leaves in both of the links below)

A carved linoleum block comes to mind but this works better on paper than on tile. You would have better results using a stencil. Jan Dressler stencils have some pretty elaborate stencils if you are after a lot of detail. You can have your own rubber stamps made from your own drawings at a company in San Diego that is a sheltered workshop for the disabled. If you want a rubber stamp with your name or some message, there are a number of sites online that will make one for your. (I had one made for my wife when she did a lot of paper crafts, it said "Handmade by ...") There are also several products on the market for this. Including rubber blocks that you can carve. There also a product you heat and then can press into objects to get patterns or textures. Go to any large hobby or paper crafts store and ask. They should be able to provide you with some options.
