I don't know you or your tastes, so that makes it hard! But I have had over 30 homes in my life, and these are some of the combinations I liked best:
Dresden (Sky) blue and a rich cream
Pale Sage Green and Toffee
Ruby Red and Ivory
Sandstone and White
Grey and Royal Blue
Palest Pink and Palest Grey
Mint Green and Apricot (for a child's room)
Butter Yellow and Hunter Green

Colors can be divided into three main groups: those that stimulate and uplift, those that relax and calm, and those that provide harmony or balance. The best way to choose a background color for the room is to trial with a palette of different shades and tones, in combination with the color and textures of the furniture and materials.

Go to the stores that sell paint. They usually have some foldout flyers near the paints that show a few combinations together. You can take those home and look at them. Also, some stores are selling tiny samples for a few bucks. buy a couple and test it on your walls. when you see a combination that looks good, buy that.

Behr has an interactive website that lets you choose color schemes. you pick a primary color and it will give you a color palette with contrasting and complementary colors to build a color scheme. You can change to various tints and shades of each color until you are satisfied with your choices. There are pictures of various rooms in a home where you can use your colors and see how they will look when actually used.
