Still not sure what type to buy. Was presented with highly discounted leather sofas especially made for a big dept store. Assistant advised it was pigmented leather from the top layer of the hide. We thought that we'd better check another up(pper) market store and found another type of pigmented leather but much softer and carrying a higher price & called "Lawson". Does that ring a bell? Is soft or hard leather better for lounge suites for durability in a sunny environment? Soft seems to be less wrinkled but could it be because of the foam?
Not sure we have Natuzzi in NZ but is there a website we can find leather quality.
Thx.
Greatly appreciate opinions and thoughts ....

I am having a hard time deciding what color to paint my kitchen. from the kitchen you can look right in to the dining room and the dining room is painted burgundy with cream doors and edgingt. Right now my kitchen is yellow. I have a purple red grape theme going on. i think it looks tacky when you look at it and then see the burgundy? any ideas as to what color would combine??

I like candles that smell like pumpkin pie and other scents that smell like the holidays. I like the scent to be strong enough and smell long enough.

I want to paint my new entry door. It is white right now and I do not think it is primed. It is steel. I don't want high-shine on the finish but I want it to be durable too. Should I use exterior latex? If so, are there different finishes (semi-gloss, eggshell, etc) like there are in the interior options? I need something durable but it doens't have to be like armor because there is a storm door in front of the entry door. Taking it off the hinges is not an option. Should I remove the knob/hardware or is it OK just to tape it to protect it from getting paint on it?

I had seen some beautiful portraits of women painted like Gibson girls-I have been scouring the internet and have been unable to find anything like them. Any ideas welcome.

I am looking for a single word that describes shiny flakes of paper that are filled up in balloons at parties; and when the balloons are bursted, they shower out at people.

My husband and I are having a new home built and therefore have to purchase furniture for a second living room. This room will be our formal living room. Anyways, my question is whether or not you think that a teracotta colored couch (looks kind of rusty/orange) and golden accent chairs would work well together? We were thinking of cherry wood furniture as well. And to brighten the room just a bit, I'd hang sheer white curtains. We played around with the idea for sometime now and it seems to be really rich and pretty. However, this is a little out of our comfort zone. A little adventurous I guess you could say. Any feedback would be great, especially from those of you with a home interiors degree? Thanks!

Hi. I have read the other similar questions but mines alittle different. I live in an old victorian house. The whole kitchen now is WHITE and I have one huge window. I have huge cabinets. Its not that big mostly with my table in it. Im looking for a color to make it alittle bit bigger looking or aleast cozier. Its the first room you walk into. I also have a around the room shelf which is close to the ceiling which I have some (not alot) of nick-nacks. Any suggestions on a color??

I'm moving into an apartment with radiator heaters...is it safe to have a piece of furniture next to one of these? For example, a couch, or a table? Is it ok as long as they don't touch? The landlord keeps the temp at 68 degrees- so they don't feel that hot.\

I'm finding my options for furniture configurations limited by the radiators! Someone told me I could just put a cover over a given radiator. and yes, I'm aware that blocking a radiator with say the back of my couch may reduce its heating effectiveness- not a real concern

thanks
