Need to have dry wall installed in a 12'x15' room in Boston area. About how much should this cost? What about cost of dry wall and taped versus only dry wall (I tape)?

The gap in some places is more than half an inch. I have tried gap sealant (it's too small and just goes through and falls under the house) joint filling compound (but I'm afraid it will be too brittle for a wood floor that has give) and Selley's no more gaps (never ask me to use that shite again, it is uncontrollable and once you start using it you can't stop it coming out of the can).

I need a solution that is low cost and doesn't require much skill as obviously I have no skill.

Have heard of persons making couter tops with cement, which had been polished to a glass like finish. Can you suggest a book, or books to study more about this?

Okay....full details. I'm re-decorating my entire room and cant figure out what this is called....its like wallpaper thats into little strips and you just stick it up on the corners of your walls.

And if anyone knows...are curtains expensive at Wal-mart?

Hii!

I'm a new homeowner - 22 - and am trying to get everything that I need for my home. I want to make sure that I have the essentials for the kitchen, living room, and bathrooms. I've been making lists, and then when I go into a store I feel overwhelmed and walk out with almost nothing. I have bedroom furniture and will be purchasing living room furniture as well as a kitchen table this coming weekend. It's the "small" things that I'm clueless on. So far I have purchased a vacuum, cutting board, cutlery, dinnerware, flatware, paper towel holder, floor lamp, toaster, microwave, blender, and I even started making a list of things I believe that I need. Any help that I could get would be greatly appreciated!!
