let the installers worry about the furniture,it is what you are paying them for,its part of the installation!how-ever your fish tank is not.drain as much water as you safely can and have a couple of friends help you move it.

Wow what an overwhelming job . there is nothing more disruptive and exhausting that trying to remodle a house that you are trying to live in. Start with the biggest room take all the furniture out of it and stuff it in the other rooms. If this is where the fish tank is get a stirafome cooler drain some of the water out into it then catch fish and put inside (MAYBE PUT THE COOLOR IN A SPARE BATHROOM TUB) Be sure that you put your air pump and an air stone with it to keep the water oxygenated if you have tropical fish the cooler will help keep the water temp warm but check water temp often and if necessary turn on a heater in that room to keep fish warm enough.Do the largest room then put back all furniture and if this is where fish tank was get it set up and start that new water warming. use your fish tank heater and be sure that you us the right chemicals to get rid of clorine and set the ph.Leave fish in cooler until the water is the correct temp. Get a plastic bag and put some of the water from cooler in it then add fish to bag Twist top leaving a large air bubble in the bag use rubberband to keep top sealed.place bag and fish in tank. when temp of water inside is the same as that in the tank then dump the bag of water and the fish in. Now move furniture from other room and place in L.R. you can just move one room at a time and this won't be quite such a job .Congratulations on getting new carpet hope all goes well with your job.

Rent a storage unit for a day to store your furniture. Put your aquarium on the porch or tiled area and keep air supply plugged in. If it is a nice day just put all of your furniture on the lawn or in your garage and hope it doesn't rain. Good Luck.

Have a great day!
