My husband and I are having a new home built and therefore have to purchase furniture for a second living room. This room will be our formal living room. Anyways, my question is whether or not you think that a teracotta colored couch (looks kind of rusty/orange) and golden accent chairs would work well together? We were thinking of cherry wood furniture as well. And to brighten the room just a bit, I'd hang sheer white curtains. We played around with the idea for sometime now and it seems to be really rich and pretty. However, this is a little out of our comfort zone. A little adventurous I guess you could say. Any feedback would be great, especially from those of you with a home interiors degree? Thanks!

I think you've done a fine job with the colors. The one thing to bring it all together is a paint color for the walls. To keep it all together, and a great way to double check if the colors will work together, is to go to a fabric store and find a fabric with all those colors in it. Pick one of the more subtle colors that are considered neutral for the wall color. To keep it rich all you have to do is go a shade or three darker, depending on your comfort level with paint. But remember, it's just paint. Have fun with it.

I think you are on the right track . The colours blend perfectly . However I think you could a little bit of an orangish trimming on the curtains to add a touch of class to the complete scene.

I'm sure it will look nice....what ever you two like will "make" it your comfort zones.
The Cherry would look really pretty with the terracotta and the sheers would add just enough brightness in the room.

Sounds very warm and cozy. Just for fun add a nice plant in a Turquoise planter and tell me what you think.

orange..any color orange will conflict with cherry wood funiture...so think mauve and startling grey accesories...curtains can have mauve with cherry and silver streaks running threw...this will complete with tv...silver and accessories
