I have some jeans(98% cotton, 2% spandex) that are kinda baggy, so I was wondering what I could do in terms of washing and drying to shrink them a little.

Just recently I purchased a dark wood high "bar table" for a dining room table in a small apt. However, when I clean it with pledge and put the placemats on top the placemats seem to turn the table a lighter color. I think they are soaking in the pledge so I've tried to keep them off for a few hours to let the pledge set but it still happens. Does anyone know of any cleaners that will just "clean" dark wood not "polish" it?

Ok.

So I got a ring, and it's really expensive, and stuff, so I'm kinda worried about this

But I used to get it on and off by using soap, and water, and now a little bit got under the crystal, and the places with soap under the crystal is turning gray, and it's making it look bad

Is there anyway I can get the soap or the water out from under the crystal?

Oh, if you need a picture, tell me =D

Sponge mops, or cloth mops (I dont know if that is really what they are called, but you know what I mean. The kind that looks like dread locks, and you wring out). :-)

Why do you preffer that kind?

Haven't used the heat of course all summer but today was a bit chilly and I decided to turn on the heat. Well, after it was on for like 5 minutes I started smelling this nasty smell not like gas or anything alarming like that...but almost like ammonia. I moved into this house in February and had the heater on then and I remember smelling something then too....Is there something I can do to clean out the vents?

I just noticed a lot of people making mention about doing a load of linens and a load of towels. I've always washed my sheets and towels together, because I don't have enough to do 2 separate loads.

I usually do a load of towels every week and it seems like I am always washing underwear. I wash about 3 - 4 loads of laundry a week and thats all jeans, t shirts, underwear, pajama's bra's, etc. I feel like I am always doing major laundry on my days off. I dont remember having this much laundry when my kids were home. I wash bed linens at least 1 time a week and yesterday bought a couple of nite shirts so I dont have to do pajama's bras and socks more than 1 time a week. Is that a lot of laundry for 1 person?

My 11-year old daughter came home from school the other day with a quarter-size black permanent marker stain on her new white cotton school uniform polo shirt. To make matters worse, she tried to 'cover' the stain with White Out correction fluid! (so now there are 2 stains in 1). She only wore the shirt once, it cost me like $30 & NO way am I going to get rid of it. Any suggestions on how to get the stain out w/o ruining the shirt?

I have a 6'x9' sisal rug with a 1" cotton black border that has been faded by the sun in places. The sisal still looks great, but the border looks grayish and dull. Is it possible to dye it at home without going to a rug professional?

My clothes drier has started leaving burnt streaks on some of the whites and lighter colors. I cannot figure out where or how this is happening but i do know the drier is less than 4 years old and SHOULD NOT be doing any of this. HELP PLEASE!

I accidentally spilled hot wax onto a chiffon like material. It looks like it dried embedded into the material. Does anyone know how i can remove it without ruining the material since its pretty delicate?

So what do you hate to do? Dishes? Laundry? what is it? And what have you done to get out of it or avoid it?

Personally I hate hate hate folding laundry. I have cleaned pretty much the whole house (toliets and all) just so I could talk the boyfriend into folding and putting away our clothes. haha
