Actually washing them fades them more. That is because the dyes are being diluted with the water. To avoid fade, toss salt or vinegar in the rinse water up to a cup according to the size load you are laundering. This sets the dye, keeps it from bleeding or fading and acts like a fabric softerner to boot.

No, but leaving them in there for too long can make them shrink. Just let them go around for about 10-15 minutes on the low/permanent press setting, then pull them out and hang them up or lay them flat right away to continue drying. This helps them keep their shape and prevents them from shrinking.
To make sure colors don't fade, try to use only a small amount of detergent without bleach or with a color-safe bleach.

It will and it will shrink them too. Avoid high heat and running the dryer past the point that the clothes are dry. Also, make sure that you use a detergent that is easy on colors and don't wash with hot water.

It depends. I personally do not dry my shirts in the dryer - I hang dry them and then I put them in the dryer for 10 mins on tumble low air....so that there is less fading and shrinkage. For my jeans it depends - if they are older jeans I just throw them in the dryer - if they are newer or ones I really love I hang dry and then put them in the dryer on low like my shirts. But everything else just goes in the dryer.

First rule of laundry, examine the care labels interior the garments, and persist with their training. utilising the incorrect cycle, temperature, detergent can quite decrease to rubble your clothing. i exploit Tide detergent, Clorox 2 and Clorox bleach (while needed) and Downy fabric softener. i stumble on the cheap stuff purely does not paintings besides. I often additionally wash my very darkish clothing (blacks or navys) one after the different, and use the Woolite for darkish laundry and chilly water. Armpit stains are extra durable, if this is a hundred% cotton you are able to bleach the shirt, i've got extensively utilized the Spray N Wash stain save on with get out difficult stains interior the previous besides. OxyClean ought to paintings besides, that stuff is massive on organic and organic stains (like sweat).

Yes! Any heat applied to material will fade material. But on the other hand if you hold it a good distance from the source and don't concentrate it in any one area you might be able to get by in a pinch.
