2 in the tank, 2 in the bowl. Only do it for major cleaning. In between, use something else. For the tank, if you have rusty water, use once a week or so and that will keep the bowl cleaner. The bowl should be done with other cleaners after a good flush from use of the tablets for about a week. use tablets in bowl about every other week to once a month.

Ive used it to clean(large office type) coffee pots I think it would work Some of them require warm water to activate-check that out- I would try a few tablets and see how it works then increase the number if you find it didnt clean well enough.

I would not advise placing any type cleaning product in the tank. It may ruin the parts contained. Even the bleach tabs that are made to go into the tank have been found to cause damage to the rubber seals.

professor grey,
i live in a house built in 1926. i have all original toilets. they were totally rusty, gunky and black in the tanks.
i bought a product called IRON OUT.
that stuff is amazing!
you can find it at the big box home stores. it is made specifically for toilets.
i think it cost $6. well worth it! my toilets look brand new, tank and all.
