I'm looking online to buy a formal dress. I found one I really like but it says spot clean only. What? It's polyester and does have some bead work on it, but why spot clean? Wouldn't I be able to hand wash it or have it dry cleaned. What exactly does spot cleaning mean? I don't understand how you can only spot clean clothing.

So I had a fire in the kitchen and there is some smoke damage. I pulled off the shelfs and managed to get them all pearly white again. but the built in shelves are harder to clean the same way (I've been using dishwasher soap--gets it off real well!) What can I do to speed up the process I've been cleaning since 7! And I'm so tiredddd!!!

Our fridge is only 3 yrs. old. I first want to say our house is very clean but we live in the country next to a field and from time to time a mouse finds its way in our home. Recently when I open the freezer it smells chemical like. Sometimes in that area of the room I get a faint smell of something like rotten meat. I have looked through cabinets and cleaned out everything and the only thing I can think of is there is something wrong the fridge giving off a strange odor or a mouse crawled in and died around the motor. The thought grosses me out and makes me want to just go get a new fridge but mine is not very old. Any ideas anyone?

then just hang them outside to dry will they still be the same size when i actually bought it? Or will it shrink a little bit because it makes me mad when i buy a shirt and it shrinks alot after my mom washes it then dries it. I'm not going to make it a big issue because its just a shirt but will it still shrink if i let it dry outside?

I had a plastic sports bottle fall on the element and burn and now I can't get the smell out of the dishwasher. I have washed the same load three times now and it still smells pretty bad and the smell is stuck to the dishes. Does anyone know of a way to get rid of the horrible smell?

I clean my coffee maker regularly, more often than is recommended in the manual that came with it, but still can't get all the pink gunk out of it. Would not having it set to start automatically make a difference?

K, I could never figure out why our dishwasher did a junky job cleaning dishes. I have been buying organic dishwasher detergent for years. Well, I decided just once to buy non-organic. Cascade actually. 1/2 the price, and twice as big! Anyways, it TOTALLY washes my dishes. Works SOOOO well. Problem is, it smells like a chemical bomb when it's washing them, and when I take out the dishes they smell like that too, especially all my daughters plastic cups. I have to decide between 1) really clean dishes that may be harmful to our health or 2) not clean dishes that cost a heck uva lot more.

Anyone out there find any organic products that work, or perhaps non-organic that is maybe not so chemically bad?

Our church just put in new windows. We had candles in the windows over the holidays. Somehow the wax from the candles got onto the window pane. How do you get it off without scraping the glass?
