yes I would say this is possible , these little devil´s get into the smallest of spaces. but it could also be that they have stored some kind of food be hide the fridge or even under the fridge .so get the hoover out ,Mice like a fresh supply of food so I don´t think he will come back for it if you have another fridge at home like a deep freezer you can transfer your things to that one .Then turn your fridge on it´s side and give a good hoover under it . make sure you turn off the main´s first

My son had a hamster that got into the back of the fridge and the fan cut its tail off so I'm sure a mouse can get in there and die. Pull the fridge out from the wall, take off the plate at the bottom, vacuum thoroughly. Clean the inside with baking soda & warm water. Put about a 1/2 cup baking soda in a bowl and put one in the fridge and one in the freezer. Arm & Hammer also sells boxes of baking soda made for the fridge. I always keep one in. Helps for general fridge/freezer odors.,

Sure a mouse could get in there. We once had one die in a toaster!!!!! at least you can clean under or behind the fridge , no reason to get rid of it. A chemical smell is something entirely different...you may have a coolant leak..you really need to get that checked...but the dead meat smell can be cleaned after you get rid of the mouse....make sure the rotten meat smell is not from the freezer... if the coolant is leaking you could have spoiled food in there.

Yes. We had a mouse problem and one of them had gotten caught in the fan and died. I thought that the refrigerator was going to have to be replaced because the freezer was not getting cool. Unfortunately, I lost a full freezer worth of food before finding this out.
Move the refrigerator so you can see the back and also underneath. Also, if you have mouse traps, make sure that there are no dead mice in them.

My aunt had a mouse die under her stove. We were moving and didn't need our old one, so we gave it to her. I was there when a friend moved it to her house for me and saw the icky dead dessicated mouse. So, yes, a mouse could get in to the motor. But having a coolant leak is hazardous. If you purchased the extended warranty, be sure and call them to have it checked out. If not, move it to see if mouse is under it. If you cannot get rid of the smell, get a new fridge. It is not worth having something that makes you sick in your house.

The mouse theory is highly likely. Have you thought about mold growing on the inside walls of the refrigerator? A moist environment can promote the growth of this nasty substance. Also, I believe there is a pan at the bottom of the refrigerator which is supposed to be emptied periodically. Odors could be emanating from that. Check your owners manual to find out.

Mice have no bones only cartilage and can squeeze into just about any small space they want. I found a dead mouse inside the computer when it started to smell and it got into a very small space. Poor mouse. It is very possible that a mouse could get under the frig.

Yes, a mouse could die there! Pull out the fridge and take a look at what's back there.

Have your Husband or a friend Move your refrigerator from the wall and see if there is a dead Mouse in there. it is not uncommon for this to happen, especially in the Winter when rodents are trying to get inside to stay warm. If there is a dead mouse and he removes it, the smell will eventually fade.

Yes. You need to pull it out and take a look. It will be gross but you got to get it out of there. I'd use a pair of kitchen tongs and throw the tongs out with the mouse. Spray the area with Lysol spray.
