So I had a fire in the kitchen and there is some smoke damage. I pulled off the shelfs and managed to get them all pearly white again. but the built in shelves are harder to clean the same way (I've been using dishwasher soap--gets it off real well!) What can I do to speed up the process I've been cleaning since 7! And I'm so tiredddd!!!

Use a cleaner that is a degreaser and deodorizer. Things like Simple Green, **** and Span, or regular Dawn dishwashing liquid are good. Put a dilute solution of dishwashing liquid in a spray bottle for the built in shelves.

You can also use a dry chemical sponge like those sold at WalMart.

Good luck!

well if your cleaning there is no fast process but if there is some damage then repair and replace is gonna be more time consuming. If burns are further along in the fixed cabinetry then you may have to sand down the areas and then primer and repaint. Good luck and hope this helped.

Oh dear! At least it doesn't sound like anyone was hurt!

I would suggest bleach or maybe baking soda and dish soap. And if you need to, get some rest: It's not like the shelves will get up and run away.

Good luck!
