My experience: I called a professional service. Someone came over to give me an estimate...told me it would take two men to move my bird cages (they are on wheels, fer cryin' out loud! I move them all the time!) blah blah and came up with a very high dollar amount.

So I asked around at work and got a great word-of-mouth recommendation - a local woman and her teen daughter. They did a splendid job for about 1/3 the price of the professionals. I think I paid them about $10-12/hr. The pros wanted a LOT more.

The prices really do vary. For a one-time cleaning the price will probably start around $100.
