Vinegar is a mild acid. That is why it makes a good cleaning agent for many applications; especially where grease cutting is involved. Vinegar, by the way, makes an excellent window cleaner. It is environmentally friendly and helps reduce toxins in the home caused by chemical products such as Windex.

I don't know what makes it a cleaning agent. I did some Internet searching and it appears to be an acceptable way to clean. I use it all the time now. It is cheap and easy and smells fresh in the house. There is no need for lots of cleaning agents cluttering up the cupboards. I have my vinegar, my toilet cleaner and my cream cleanser for the really hard to clean stuff. 3 bottles and some rags, how much more easy can it be?

1. Yes! Vinegar cleans glass, stainless steel, inside appliances like kettles, coffee makers and will even take the gunk off of your bath tub.
2. Vinegar is a liquid produced from the fermentation of ethanol in a process that yields its key ingredient, acetic acid.

YEAH!! this is my favorite subject... cleaning products!!! I am not sure at all what substances make it a cleaning agent, but i am sure that there is some acidic thing in it, and i really dont care. If you can handle the smell, it kicks bootie used alone to wash windows with no streaks (even for me!), and if you put it in a dish and leave it out on a table, it takes bad odors like fish & even burned popcorn out of a room! If you mix it with baking soda into a paste, and put it on the burnt parts of your oven and its a killer oven cleaner, and stain remover for ANYTHING!!!! plus its safe to breathe even if youre pregnant. I told you i love this topic! thanks for asking!

vinegar is acetic acid and its great for many cleaning chores, it really helps remove grease from surfaces, like kitchen stove, its good for cleaning windows, it helps remove water stains because it will disolve lime, it also helps soften clothes when put in the rinse cycle because it takes out that hard water residue, it also helps get rid of smells in laundry like sweat.
