Can't get the lamp off the wall; even after using WD the screws refuse to budge. I have removed the old socket. Do I have to buy a special socket or does this use the same socket as a table lamp? I'm a "little old lady" but am really handy with most home repairs.

Earlier... the bottom of my guitar accidentally hit the bottom of my bed and put a chip in the paint. It's small, but it really bugs me. Does anybody know how much it might be to get it fixed?

A Pettite toilet has an outside diameter of 12 inches. The only thing I've found in the stoors is a commercial seat that has an open front and not cover. This is for my home, I want a seat that has a closed front and a cover. Any ideas?

I am planning to build a deck with a roof covering. The size is about 10 x 14 ft. I don't require a permit if its build 6 ft away from the house or if it doesn't have a roof. The roof covering will be attached to the existing roof of the house. The permit cost is $212 and it will take 2-3 weeks for approval. The building inspector said that I may be penalized without any permit and its safer to build with a permit.

Any suggestions??

Has anyone ever hired a company to clean your tile and grout? I found one that charges 39 cents/sq foot, but I don't know whether or not it's worth it.

I just want to replace like with like. Other than turning off the water and electricity and following the installation instructions are there any other specialist tools or skills I would need? It's an 8.5kw Mira Sport.

I want to paint my house's interior with different color for different room but I also think about further down the road if I want to sell my house. I want to paint some room with darker color that match my taste. If in the future I decide to sell my house and to appeal to more people, I have to repaint them to a neutral color, would that color come out OK over the old darker paint? For example, a very light beige over chocolate brown?

Last year I bought a cement bird bath, but failed to notice where the birds bathe has ridges. When it got almost mouldy looking, I tried everything including bleach. I didn't use it this past winter even though I have a heater that stops the water from freezing. I was pretty sure that the heat would make my problem worse. Now that it is spring I'm wondering if I should give up and buy a new one?

I had two cats who urinated on my couch, and the smell will not go away. I have tried soap and water, Febreeze, pet odor remover, Lysol, and I even tried using a carpet cleaner on it, but nothing has worked. Do you have any suggestions?

I am just looking for a very rough ballpark estimate for how much it would cost to replace a 25 year old furnance (forced air, burning fuel oil).

It would be for a 1300 sq. ft. house.

Would it be close to $1,000? $5,000? $10,000?

This would be for an elderly person who doesn't have much money and, thus, wouldn't "splurge."
