Burts bee's works really great, even on small children

I just read a list of 200+ uses for vinegar yesterday, and I know it mentioned keeping some bugs away. Let me give you the link and you can see the recommendation. I'm gonna try it on some fruit flies that are currently dive-bombing my kitchen!

A big nasty cigar always keeps the moose flies away when fishing. I've also heard to hang something yellow away from where you are. Also many bugs are attracted to co2 so stop breathing for a second when they are swarming. Believe it or not it works!

I had a friend from Michigan that said real vanilla would repel them---stick your hand in the air and they will stay away from your face.

citronella oil - you can get it from aromatherapy suppliers. You either rub it on yourself (diluted with almond oil if you buy it neat) or evaporate it around you so the vapour discourages them - various items can also be purchased from aromatherapy shops to evaporate the oil.

grab one of those ferns that grow on the ground in the woods and rub it on your skin. WORKS GREAT!
