B&S Quattro? yes like a normal automobile engine... gas in the gas tank, and oil in the crankcase... (20 ounces max)
Straight 30 weight will do you fine above 40 degrees Fahrenheit.. I'd use a 5w-30 synthetic all year round... change it around 25 hours runtime after it has been broken in and changed the first 5 hours of runtime..
Even briggs's small weedeater engines are 4 cycles... no oil/gas mixing.

Just normal unleaded petrol, the oil goes in the sump, you will see the oil filler on the side of the engine about 3" up from the bottom.
It may not come with any oil in so check before you run it.

The short answer on this one is to check and see if it has valves in the cylinder head. Look to see if you can see any push rods on the side of the engine casing or look to see if the head if thin.
If the head is thin then it will be a two stroke engine and will need oil/fuel mix.

there are four stroke engines which use ordinary leadfree, and there are two stroke engines which use a mixture of petrol and special two stroke oil.
At a guess I would say thet your B S engine for a lawn mower is ordinary petrol. Check your hand book and your supplier.
Good luck

Most B&S engines are four stroke so petrol in the tank and oil in the sump.

It's easy to figure out, does this mower have a seperate place to put the oil, does it have a dip stick? if so then you don't nned to premix, if not you will probably need to premix.
