I am considering getting laminate wood but have two older (11 and 15 years old) dogs that sometimes have accidents and was wondering if they would ruin it. I may have to go with travertine.

Last year we had false ceilings put in two rooms then added spot lights. If the government make these bulbs obsolete will we be able to buy the new energy bulbs or would we have to remove the ceilings and start again.?

I've heard its possible to paint over old bathroom tiles using first a sort of 'primer' allowing you to paint over them. I've heard mixed feelings about this in terms of the paint starting to peel off.

Anyone ever used this or have any other tips for painting over old tiles?

First of all, I live in a rental, so painting walls or any remodeling is out of the question. I am lucky enough to have an extra room dedicated to all of my business files, computer, etc. etc. but each time I sit down to do any work at home, I inevitably find myself on the couch (or the floor) of my living room in front of the TV with papers spread out all over.

I do have a small TV in the office room just for entertainment while doing boring tasks, but does anyone have any ideas for me so that I ENJOY going into this room and stop toting all my papers back and forth between the living room and the office?

Thanks! (my business thanks you too! :) )

My dog found a charcoal brickette and brought it into the house where I have carpet. Anyone know how to remove the stain? I have a 3 inch round circle in the middle of the open space.

I wish to lay out the wiring in a room extension before sealing the walls. Therefore need to know the correct product to use for two different applications. 1. For the normal 240v sockets ie to plug in a tv 2. What cable do you use for lighting? aiming to use normal bulb fittings and flouresant (sp) lights?

They're all over the place - on gravel, grass, and flower beds. There must be an easier way than just scooping them up with gardening gloves. Some of them are wet and embedded. Is there a hoover (rather than blower)?

I live in a terraced house, built early 1900's. The house next door to me is being completely gutted and renovated at the moment. I've noticed that since they started work, my bedroom door no longer closes properly - I have to really push it hard to get it closed. Do you think that the work next doot has caused some sort of structural damage to my house and if so, what should I do about it?

I walked into one of those bargain shops the other day where everything is under $2. I was kind of shocked to see an item called "Rat Paper", it was cardboard covered in sticky glue, and was obviously 'made in china'. Anybody seen or used this stuff?? Kind of a horrible way of catching rats

Was wondering....last year when i cut my grass i then followed it up the next day with a weed-killer spray (2-4D) i noticed that my grass started turning yellow. I couldnt figure it out for the longest time and realized oh pooh was the grass in such a weak state (after being cut) that my spraying the herbicide actualyl hurt it even more? Is this true?

Thanks
