I usually wear them a few times before I wash them again, I just don't think I need to, my roommates think that is gross. I just wish they wouldn't wash their clothes all the time, our water bill is too high!

These are leaves off of a beautiful climbing vine that I have on my side fence. Recently the leaves are turning brown and have this flaky dark substance on the main line in the center of the leaves. Some has moved out towards the center as you can see by the photos.
I would like to know what it is, how to treat it and prevent it.
I really would rather not cut the vine back, if it can be helped, as it is in flower and also is attached to a privacy fence.

My friend gave me a Lady Kenmore Heavy Duty Washing machine. I do not know the year. Fairly old looking and runs off 120 volts. It seems to have a problem though.
Ever time the actual washing cycle begins it empties out all the water into the drain hose. It then refills the water, but as soon as the wash cycle starts it starts to empty the water. So it fills the water, starts to clean and then empties immediately while cleaning.
What is causing this problem. I have extensive tool access and can probably fix the problem, if someone would give me this information.

I have a not too big patio area that is currently covered with the small white decorative rocks and the black tarp under it. weeds do grow out from under.
I want to make a patio out of brick or laying down a wood plank or something after removing the rocks. what is your opinion on this / best practices? I don't intend to keep this setup for long, just for a party that is coming up soon and would probably take it apart and either hire a pro to install or do some type of landscaping perhaps for a bbq or so.

Right now, just need extra space to have people sit outside with some chairs and a table.

BUT I don't want it too look too ghetto ;)

I would like to replace my old wooden fence with prefab-ed panels and metal posts. Has anyone done this and can I use chain link posts or are there special posts for this? Also what brackets would I need to attach the post to the panel?

Just installed a new toilet. The toilet works fine, however after about fifteen minutes, the bowl is dry. All of the water is gone. There are no leaks. What could be causing this?

I started staining a few of my kitchen cabinets, which are oak. I sanded everything down to the grain and am staining with cherry stain with the poly already in it. The guy at lowes said nothing about a wood conditioner, but my cabinets are not staining evenly, no matter how much I sand. I am using a brush and not wiping it off. Am I suppose to just wipe it on and then let it dry, then lightly buff and start again? HELP!

Does anyone know of anything that I can put on our yard to either kill or run off ticks? It needs to be pet and child friendly.
Tonight I found a tick on my daughter (3 1/2) and I am sure that she must have gotten it off the dog. I am planning on going to the vet and getting something to keep them off the dogs - but we live on 16 acres and I don't think that will be enough to keep them off the kids, especially since the weather is getting nice and the kids will be playing outside alot.
I just need something to treat the area where the dogs go and the kids play. Thanks for all the help.

I just moved into a home that is a little over a year old but it has no garage door opener. It has the single door that just comes up and back and it is kinda heavy. My house is pre wired for everything, sensor spots are there, electrical outlet on roof, and spot for opener on the wall by the door just none of them have anything there. What would be the steps to do it and could I do it myself, also how big of an opener do I need to open the heavy door (not that heavy but kind of heavy).

I have been using a product called fabuloso on my hardwood floors and its been turning out lovely. However my boyfriend figured he would do something nice for me and he took a mop to the floors with about 30 ounces of fabuloso and not enough water to dilute it... Resulting in nasty filmy sticky greasy grimy floors... I've been cleaning it with just hot water figuring that it would eventually get it all up but I've cleaned it about 10 times now and its a little better but not much... I was wondering if there is an easy way to get rid of the soapy scumy film?
