My friend gave me a Lady Kenmore Heavy Duty Washing machine. I do not know the year. Fairly old looking and runs off 120 volts. It seems to have a problem though.
Ever time the actual washing cycle begins it empties out all the water into the drain hose. It then refills the water, but as soon as the wash cycle starts it starts to empty the water. So it fills the water, starts to clean and then empties immediately while cleaning.
What is causing this problem. I have extensive tool access and can probably fix the problem, if someone would give me this information.

It only happens during the washing cycle. The drain hose is above the top of the washing machine.

Go to www.repairclinic.com. You can check with their problem solving guides. The year of the machine is within the model number or serial number of the machine.
