I have a pretty large hibiscus plant that has always done wonderfully, however lately it is looking kind of thin and has a lot of yellow leaves on it, what should I do? I've never had one of these plants (or hardly any plants) before so I don't know anything about pruning it or anything. Help would be greatly appreciated!!

I converted my garage into living space. There is both a string pull down light and an outlet in the ceiling. I would like to place a mounted light at both locations. Only problem is there will be no switch on the wall. Do they make wireless switches? I'm looking to mount a light at both locations, then mount a wireless home style switch on the wall, so I won't have to rip through all the sheetrock to wire the switch. Is there any such device?

I live in a block of flats and there is a lot of thick black smoke on my landing and a burning smell (difficult to breathe). I am not sure where it is coming from.

Should I call the fire brigade ? Can I get arrested for wasting their time if they come here and there is no fire ?

Please answer quickly...

I just installed wood paneling in my basement against drywall with nails only. I let the paneling acclimate for a week prior to installing and now it's bowing from the !#!*! wall. Is there any way to fix this without tearing it all down? Ugh!

We are considering buying a house/land less than 50 kms from a capital city. It is not connected to mains water. It has a 20,000 litre rain water tank for dishes and showers etc, and access to a dam (pumped from another property for a charge) for toilet and gardens etc. The block itself is totally sloping and not suited to put a dam on really...or maybe it is with excavation?? Anyway, just hoping to hear from people who have had a non-mains home or have thought about the implications of it. What should I check and consider before buying?

I have 5 oak trees in the front of my house that leave no sun in between them and the house. last fall we tore the ground up, hitting alot of small roots, planted new seed, strawed it and watered daily. This year it is not coming back up. Any suggestions as to what kind of seed to use or other things to try?

Okay, so someone who lives at my house has a bathroom. In that bathroom there is a toilet. On that toilet is a toilet seat. Okay, so you have me so far? Over the course of the last year, the toilet seat has developed a faint purple stain that conforms to her butt and legs, and it has gotten worse and worse. This is a two part question... (One), what in the heck caused that? I mean, I am really weirded out. I am willing to guess that it was caused by the dye in her pants mixing with the oils in her skin, but that seems a little out there. (Two) How do you think I get it off? I was going to give softscrub a shot soon, but any help would be appreciated. It is one of those nice, solid toilet seats, so I don't really want to go buy another one, especially if her purple butt is making more butt shaped marks....

I had an entry door and new storm door installed by someone and they charged me $300 to do it. I noticed at the very bottom right hand side that my door was not closing. I had another person look at it and he told me the guy that installed my door did not know what he was doing. For one thing he cut my z bars too short which lets light seep through the bottom of the door and he even hung my door handles upside down. I called the guy and let him know about this and he seemed shocked that something was wrong with the door. He really is a good guy but at the same time I think he owes me some money back. He said he would replace a piece of vinyl siding for me for free because I needed one replaced on the front side of my house but I am still highly upset about this.
