I just installed wood paneling in my basement against drywall with nails only. I let the paneling acclimate for a week prior to installing and now it's bowing from the !#!*! wall. Is there any way to fix this without tearing it all down? Ugh!

I wonder if you have a humidity problem. Did you leave a gap between the panels when you installed them?

Maybe if you fastened to the top of the paneling as with a piece of trim, securely, you may be able to swing up the bottom of the paneling just enough to work in some panel adhesive. But it still bobbles after that and it is glued to the sheet rock you will end up tearing out the whole wall!

I would takethe paneling off the wall stack it on the floor so that it flattened out before reinstalling with adhesive. Make sure you leave a gap between the paneling when reinstalling as specified by the manufacturer.

First, why the wood paneling OVER drywall?? First of all, it isn't a good idea to put wood paneling over drywall or vice-versa, with nails only. In the basement, where it is generally alot cooler, moister is a big problem. Even though it may not have hurt the drywall, wood paneling is thin and lightly glued. if you want to put it over drywall I would suggest using a product called liquid nail place it on the drywall and when you put on the panels make sure it is pressed on tightly and no air gaps. and then on the corners put a small tacking nail to prevent it from separating at the corners. Hope this helps!
