You can place it in a lingerie bag and place that in the washing machine to protect it.

The reason it says not to put your bra in the wash is because the agitator in your washer does a couple of things. First, it stretches the bra out, which means it has a shorter life, and won't fit as well as it did when you bought it. Secondly, if it is agitated enough, the wires can pop out, which can be really hard or impossible to repair. I put my bras in a pillow case (you could also buy a lingerie bag), and put it on the hand wash/gentle cycle in the washer. You should also lay them flat to dry. The dryer can damage the delicate material and do more stretching, and line drying can also stretch the straps. I worked at victorias secret for a long time and people came in to return bras they ruined in the washer all the time. That is what we recommended to avoid problems in the future. The other advice I have is actually not to use Woolite. For some reason, the woolite damages the lycra and makes the bra fall apart eventually.

If you machine wash your bras, you won't see any damage right away - but over the long haul it's better for your bras to be handwashed. Since few of us actually have the time or patience to handwash all of our bras, I have a few other suggestions for prolonging the life of your bras...
- Get a lingerie bag, it will reduce the wear and tear from the washer and you can just throw it in with the rest of your laundry
-Throw all of your bras into a large sealable container with water and a little bit of mild detergent then shake it like a polaroid picture, then rinse - all the benefits of handwashing without actually having to wash anything by hand.
Hope this helps!

You CAN wash it in a washing machine, but first put it in a lingerie bag and set the machine for Delicates, also VERY IMPORTANT go to local store(WalMart carries it) and get some Woolite for DARKS. It will keep the black bra from fading. Also do NOT dry it in the dryer, air dry it. The Dryer will also fade it. Good luck.

I am guessing that since it says hand wash it probably has an underwire and if so putting it in the washer can bend the wire and it will end up coming out of the bra. you also shouldn't put bras in the dryer because most bras have a foamy type layering between the fabric ( this covers the ni**les from showing) and heat can melt and change the way the bra appears making it appear lumpy of uneven....

Buy a garment bag to wash it in. Put the bra in the bag and then put in with a regular load of undies or fine wash. It will be fine and then hang it to dry.

you ought to use Woolite detergent to bathe your delicates such as underclothes or wool/cashmere sweaters. All you prefer is a cap-comprehensive of the liquid on your crammed sink. Soak it in there and graceful it around slightly. once you're carried out, squeeze out any extra water and lay it out to dry on a towel. in the journey that your bra is made up of cotton or lace and does not have lots of decorations on it that would come off in the widespread wash, you are able to purely purchase a underclothes bag to bathe your underclothes in. Toss them into the bag and then into the wash such as your different clothing. It keeps your delicates from being entangled such as your different clothing which might in any different case harm them.

You could probably machine wash it on delicate in cold water and use a lingerie bag but I wouldn't dry it at all.

You should hand wash it. It may contain padding or lace which is delicate and if you put in machine it will distort it.
