I usually wear them a few times before I wash them again, I just don't think I need to, my roommates think that is gross. I just wish they wouldn't wash their clothes all the time, our water bill is too high!

Ok first of all, you can get all kinds of infections by wearing your underwear more than once. Men and women both can get a bacterial infection on your skin down under by putting something unclean next to it and wearing it all day for a few days.

Each day you should change your underwear to a clean pair. If you don't like doing laundry, go and purchase at least 7 pairs of underwear and rotate them from a dirty pair to a clean pair each day.

If you are worried about the water bill and causing the bill to go higher, get a roll of quarters each week, load up your laundry, some laundry soap and softener, drive to the local laundry-mat, and wash your clothes there.

What ever you decide to do.... PLEASE change to clean underwear daily!!

I'm sorry, but I'd have to say that you ought to wash them once per wear. but on the other hand why don't you go around when washing whites(for example) and in washing a full load at one time you ought to do pretty well. I have a lot of underwear of varying sorts and so I just wash one large load every now and then. Also, use the cold water cycle instead! It helps on the electric bill.

That is gross and unhygienic i was always taught to wear my underwear only once and put it in the wash i'm sure your room mate's aren't washing their stuff one thing at a time a load of washing isn't wasting water.

If you save up enough underwear to make a small load the water bill will not be so high. You should change your under shirt and underpants DAILY. It has a special 'yesterday's sweat smell' if you don't. Treat yourself. I have a brilliant cousin, he's a professor at a local University. He wears a shirt and then puts back in the closet and wears it again, I think he does that with his undershirt too. We have stopped inviting him to our gatherings now, as we cannot stand the unnecessary body odor stink.......don't be like him.

I am surprised you don't have any major vaginal/kidney/bladder infections. Not washing your underwear can cause many problems for you and that is the most unhealty thing you can do by. When washing your clothes do not just wash your underwear by themselves wash with all your clothes whites, colored, and delicates, towels and that should save money and use a mixture of hot and cold. and you don't have to use the most expensive detergent or fabic softners you want your clothes clean

Every time you take them off - put them into the laundry. Find out how to do laundry with the least water and how to wash clothes gently. They will last longer, you will be fresher and sweeter, your room mates will love you, and spiritual teachers will tell you that there are some very deep reasdons for the old adage, that cleanliness is close to godliness.

Bras are one thing, you can leave them unwashed for a couple of days, as long as you were not sweating in it. But panties? No, you have to wash them every time you wear them. Just soak them in some soapy water in the bathroom sink, and rub out the crotch area. It will save you in two ways.
1. Water bill won't be too high
2. You won't smell like old cheese.

the two cheapest things are soap and water. that is a poor excuse for not changing your underwear daily. if you are really concerned about the water bill buy a change of underwear for everyday of the week and wash them weekly your room mates are right it is gross.
