Every morning I wake up and my mattress has moved about six inches off the foot of the bed, so there's a gap at the head of the bed up by the wall that my pillows fall into. I was wondering if anybody has any ideas on what I can do to prevent this from happening. I can't afford a foot board for the bed, so that's not a solution.

It looks like aluminum but is heavier (not pewter or silver) but is shiny like stainless steel, yet won't attract a magnet. The middle of the dish is about 1/4"thick and the end where a person would hold it, is 1/2'' thick. It is shaped like an oval serving dish and has a metalworked design etched into the metal on the inside and underside of the dish. Have never seen anything like this. The design is etched rabbits. I would lilke to know if this is even from the U.S. Thanks

I bought my mother in law a jane magnolia tree last year, so it has been planted a year and has lived through winter and is in bloom right now. She doesn't want it to be a full tree so she wants to prune it so it will go up a lil like a tree and then kinda spread like a bush outward. When and how do you prune this JANE magnolia tree to make it like that and not just big like a regular tree??? It has two trunks i guess you would say that come up from the bottom.

The light fixture I bought is meant to hang with the lights hanging down, but I want to hang it with the lights up because it looks better that way. Does it say to hang it down because the 3 glass shades are too heavy to be pointing up? Should I just hang it up anyway instead of hanging down?

We bought those Sticky Toys from the Bubble Gum Machine. Where if you throw it on the wall it sticks. What else sticks is a Grease stain as well. Does anyone know how to take it off. I am moving in a week from a apartment and Painting isn't a option. I tried Mr Clean Sponge, Baking Soda, WD40, Dawn Detergent and Nothing works. Imagine what my walls look like. They Had a sticky Hand, Foot and Nose. Thanks in Advance!!:o)

Here's the deal. I moved into a 25 year old condo 2 years ago. When I started to paint the walls, I ran into problems. I originally washed the walls down (mild detergent), let dry for a week (I'm doing this on weekends, no rush), and put on 1 coat of latex primer. The next weekend, I cut in with the paint (no problems), but as I began to roll the paint on, the coat of primer started peeling off. I was able to peel the entire coat of primer off with my hands, just like peeling skin after a sunburn. More than a little confused, I changed my attack. I went over the whole wall with a random orbital sander (220 grit), washed/rinsed the wall with a TSP solution (followed directions), rinsed with plain water, let sit for a week, and switched to an oil based primer. I hate working with oil base but this worked. The oil based primer stuck fine, and I covered it with latex paint, no problems. That is how I have been having to prep any time I've painted, until the upstairs hallway...

I was reading an article about container gardening and it reads: "Feed monthly with a balanced fertilizer, and deadhead spent flowers regularly to keep them blooming." Are we just talking about getting rid of the old flowers? Or is there any particular way you have to cut the flowers in order to encourage more blooms? Thanks!

I'm trying to replace a tap cartridge in a shower mixer tap, but the old cartridge just will not come out. The stem sheared right off in handle, so just replacing the washer was not an option. I paid $30.00 for a replacement tap cartridge assmebly, but the defective one will not budge. I've tried a very large pipe wrench on it, but it still will not budge. Is there some trick I'm missing? I don't want to force it too much as I am afraid I will rip the pipes right out of the wall if I get too heavy-handed.
