The following is only suggested for black print on regular newspaper, not for colored inks or papers.
If you have other paper from the same source for "practice", I suggest steaming the practice paper and then ironing it. Experiment to determine the temperature for the iron. 451º is too hot, "cotton" may be too hot. I'm guessing "rayon" setting might be about right. That's steam first and then dry-iron *without* steam.
All newspaper paper is not the same, but different pieces from the same edition will be perfect for practice.
If it works OK with the practice piece, then do the "good" one.
Other possibilities: see if copies are still available from the publisher, scan the original and print out on fresh newsprint.

You should be able to flatten it with a warm iron. Try not to rip the paper if it is real old. I have even had some success with steaming the paper a bit before ironing it.

You could try to press it between two heavy books. I would use a low setting and some parchment paper on top if you try the iron idea. Steam may also work.

Call the newspaper and have them print you the page without the crease.

iron it with a warm clothing iron, but don't use steam which might damage the newspaper. press in one direction ("pushing" against the crease) and lift the iron. this is very similar to how one presses a paper clothing pattern.

If you want to frame one page, call the newspaper. Some of them offer the service of duplicating a page for you. It will be flat and new.

Put a light weight towel (such as a 100% cotton) over it and iron it on a low setting.
Putting a towel over it and being on a low setting will keep the newspaper from burning.

What I usually do is take the section to the ironing board, place a handtowel over the section and iron it flat with low steam. it works for me.
