I just want to replace like with like. Other than turning off the water and electricity and following the installation instructions are there any other specialist tools or skills I would need? It's an 8.5kw Mira Sport.

Hi,
Providing you can get an exact replacement no problem; If not, it's a whole new ball game !
What ever you do make sure the electrics switched off at the mains and to be safe check the electrical connection at the shower unit with a mains tester be for you disconnect, just to besure it's not live.
The water supply just needs turning off at the main stop tap.
Tools required :- 2 adjustable grip wrenches /Electrical mains tester screw driver/ Philip's or slot screw drive to remove & replace fixing screws/ PTFE joint tape.
Be Safe J.E.

Poor May 1 doesn't get out enough ! of course there are electric showers, you have one. So long as you buy the same model its a piece of cake to change and will be a straight forward job. Just make sure the Earth is fixed securely as this can result in death if not.

The main thing to watch out for is the actual size of the shower, if it is smaller than the current shower you will end up with a gap around it that will not look so hot.
Other than that it's a very straight forward job.

Use insulating caps and then tape
on your wiring. They break down
because they short out.
