I'm going to move my stove over six inches to accomadate new kitchen cabinetry.

why pay an electrician...its a simple move do it yourself and save yourself the money as here in canada an electrician can run anywhere from 80 - 120 bucks an hour

It would depend if the move shortened the distance to the power supply (your fuse box) or lengthened the distance. If it's longer, he would have to remove all the old wire and repull new wire that is the correct length. You may want to try to check this out yourself and see if the move is worth it.

If you could do it yourself or find a friend that may be able to do it, your will save a fortune. I would expect $100 or less depending on the electrician.

down here in so. fla it will cost u $65 per hour with a $65 minimum for any less than an hour. Whatever price they charge u, make sure YOU watch the clock.

Why not look for a longer pigtail (power cord). Check the home centers.
