My bf and I are removing the tiles from the bathroom wall with a chisel and hammer; however, we live in an apartment building, so I was wondering if there's an easier way to remove the tiles by softening the grout around them.

I recently bought a house with many mature pine trees of several varieties (spruce and ceder mostly). However the lawn under the trees is non-existent, not just dead, totally gone. The lawn is fine in the rest of the space, just dead under the evergreens. what should I do to fix the soil and replant so that the bare patches are gone?
PS, I have already cleared away the dead needles so its just bare dirt now.

I have a guitar that was damaged in transit - the case came open and the guitar ended up on van floor. There are a couple of deep gouges down to the wood but the underlying rosewood is not touched. Is there any way to repair the clear varnish finish without stripping the entire instrument and re-varnishing?

I love abstract pieces as well as African American artwork and scenic. If I mix them all in one room or throughout my home will it look tacky? Should I pick on and go with it?

For example, I have 3 Wassily Kandinsky pieces and I would love to purchase some pieces from the Charles Bibbs collection. I have lots of bare walls and would love to showcase them both.

I am very contemporary in style and I don’t want the eccentric look. I want it to look clean and uniform. Any advice on this would be great!

And then what is the best, but most inexpensive, way of getting it to grow. We planted some last summer but not very much came up. I just want a yard!!!! How long will it take before we have real, honest to goodness grass, and what type should we use? Remember, we're keeping it inexpensive. :)
Also, don't know if it matters or not, but we live in Asheville, NC. Don't know how much climate effects this.

I removed the baseboards, window and door trim. I painted the room and the trim seperately. I thought it would be easier. When I replaced the trim, I have some gaps where I sanded off the old paint that some one had globbed in the trim to fill holes. Now, I tried using a paintable caulk to fill the gaps. But, the caulk keeps overlapping my paint and leaving white marks. I think this just means that I am going to have to paint all around the trim again. Just needing confirmation I guess.

Thanks, NWA

Do you think a nursery would buy my 20 ft. sago palm? It is fully mature and grows baby trees on the trunk. If so what would be a good price?

Place where I rent has a boiler system to heat all the apts. I found out my heat doesn't work. They said it is air in the line. They have been putting new bleaders on and draining the pipes for the past 2 months. Should it take this long? What causes no heat? Anything else the maintenance man can do? It's hard to believe that it takes over 2 months to fix a no heat problem. What can I do?
