Place where I rent has a boiler system to heat all the apts. I found out my heat doesn't work. They said it is air in the line. They have been putting new bleaders on and draining the pipes for the past 2 months. Should it take this long? What causes no heat? Anything else the maintenance man can do? It's hard to believe that it takes over 2 months to fix a no heat problem. What can I do?

new vents an bleeding radiators doesn't take 2 months trust me its what i do. if all your units are get heat from one boiler then there are zones. your zone neighbors etc. tell him to check: zone valves little box type devices connected to your first incoming pipe to the unit or in the basement those usually go and is the most common problem quick replacement depending on cost is about 30-60 dollars max 30 Min's to do if you have circulaters the check the relay . relay tells pump to turn on when your thermostat calls for some heat . simple way is take of your thermostat ( don't worry nothing will happen) there are two wires 24 volt low volt it wont hurt you touch them together and leave them if you get heat then you have a bad thermostat if you still have nothing its a bad pump, relay, or zone valve those three would be in the basement not in your unit hope i could help

I can't believe you're paying for no heat for 2 months. Call the owner, tell him you are withholding your rent in an account until the heat is fixed. Tell him you are calling the housing authority, and the utility company. It is not your job to fix their heater. Talk to your neighbors, it is highly unlikely that you are the only one with a problem.

this is caused from sand in the pipes the san d clogs up the filter then it won't give you the pressure or the heat so just take off the filter and run the water till it gets hot it should work don't ask me why there's sand in the water time to ask PG&E that question i had that problem had no hot water that's how i fixed mine now mine works great i have hot and cold water and good water pressure good luck
