Understand it is paint you are washing and on interior doors it is probably still an oil based paint. I use a cap full of all purpose cleaner such as Mr. Clean and an ounce of tilex mixed in in about a gallon of warm water. I use a rag instead of a sponge also. I have owned a cleaning service for over 20 years.

Windex is a great cleaner. Use a white scratchy pad, the green ones would be too abrasive and remove the paint. Mr Clean Magic Eraser does work, but be careful, they can remove the paint too

Just a little very warm water and Murphy's oil soap. Oh and some elbow grease too :)
