I live in an apartment that is basically one room and I want to paint. Do you have to stick to one color or can you divide the room into areas? How do you go about making the decision to divide the room. Do you have to use colors of the same family? Any advice would be a great help.

We bought a 2500 square foot home within a sub-division nearly a year ago. (First time home buyers). And recently, we found out that 10 feet of our property is in fact a public access way to the common five acre area behind our house (as well as the other homes located on our street and another) within our subdivision. The homeowners association is now wanting to place a concrete path so that residents within our subdivision have access to this common area. Now we had plans on having a beautiful wooden fence around our property for privacy. But they are saying they will place a cast iron fence on one side of our house but not the entire house. They will not use wood like we prefer. At any rate, I really don't think anyone would be interested in purchasing our home mainly because of this public access area if we decide to sell out. My question is this: will this pathway to the common area lower our home's property value which would make it harder to sell and make profit off of it?

My friend and I painted my living room a few weeks ago and we apparently weren't as careful as we needed to be when we taped and then painted near the ceiling. Now I have paint marks on my ceiling from the overbrush...how can I get that off?

seems I almost have more thistles, dandelions, and stuff I don't recognize (yay! new weed species in my yard!) than lawn. Will take me forever to spot weed kill, and besides, I don't really like putting petrochemicals on my garden. Is there such a thing as a commercially-available "green' weedkiller, which won't harm animals that eat it, but will kill weeds?

I'm looking for lots of pictures of different bedrooms so that I can find a theme I like and try to somewhat copy it for my new house. I really like dark colors...my eyes are sensitive to light so I want my bedroom to be a warm color. I have bought black furniture, as it is my fav. accent color. I was thinking deep green walls, or burgundy...but I can't decide what will look best! Help :-\

I bought a box of junk yesterday and I found one of the weirdest things. It's a glass ball about the size of the a pool ball and it had a light purple/violet color. I held it all through the day and once I was about to leave I put it in my purse. A couple of hours later I pulled it out of my purse and found it was an icy blue clear color. My sister and mother thought it was since it got cold and just changed colors, but we placed it in a cup of steaming water and it stayed the same color. Then we went into our kitchen and saw it went back to it's original color. The lighting in our kitchen is the same in the rest of the house, so it couldn't have been that. So if you have any answers or ideas, please post them. Thanks a lot!!!

Which brand would you recommend GE, Maytag, Sharp, or Fedders.

I live in GA and I need something that will last. I had a Sharp and it lasted 5 years.

My wife is a MESSY person. Her concept of clean is far from what I consider clean. She'll tell me the house is in good shape, but when I come home I am appalled. How do I get her to change her ways? I am tired of doing all the cleaning and fighting about it as well. HELP!

I had a bottle of honey sitting on my carpet. Why? Because I was too lazy to pick it up. What I didn't know was that it was leaking. Now I have a spot about two inches in diameter which is soaked with honey. Is there any way I can remove it? No, I won't pour gasonline on it and light a match. Any good advice will be most appreciated.
