I live at an apartment complex that is horrible for mold, its everywhere, but I've figured out how to manage it everywhere but in the cement. My cats like to go outside, so I need to be able to safely remove it so that it does hurt them.

I'm making an address/mailbox pillar for the front of my driveway, using manufactured river rock (flat on one side). The base of my pillar is exterior plywood. Can I just screw on pieces of concrete tile board (1/2") and then mortar or thin-set my fake rock onto it? I'm trying to avoid paper, wire mess, etc.

I hatched and raised some chicks and I used kitty litter for their bedding. Now I wonder if it's ok to use that in a flower garden. I know that the chicken manure is good, but is the kitty litter itself bad? as far as I know it's just clay.

Last summer some raw meat with ice was put into this chest. This was done to keep the meat refigerated for a drive that lasted about 1.5 hours. Somehow the meat was forgotten about and ended up spending about 2 days in said ice chest in the trunk of a car.
You can imagine the smell. Anyway, everything was done to remove the foul odor that emenated from it: baking soda, bleach, vinegar. Several cleansers was used to clean out the chest. Nothing has helped this problem.
No doubt the smell of the rotting meat has permeated the plastic ice chest but I was wondering if anything can be used to exorcise the foul odor.
I hate to waste such a good ice chest.
Do you know of anything that could be used in removing the stench?

I've read that they need good drainage, I think they have that, but how often do I water them? Every day, only when they look dry, etc.? The herbs I have are:

Sweet basil
greek oregano
thyme
cilantro
italian parsley
peppermint
spearmint
chives

and they're in pretty good sunlight. And I live in Texas.

One more thing, When a plants leaves turn yellow (I also have spinach and it's leaves keep turning yellow) do you need to trim off the yellow?

Thanks in advance fellow gardeners!

I have a small creek bed that Im work'g on to run dowhill also deepen & widen'd. The rain water runs off of my neighbor's property & onto mine, & floods our road to where my neighbors cant get out. So I have to do something.
My 3 ideas all include a retain'g pond, a re~circulation system w/ a pump, pvc, a spout & river rock. Only 2 of them would use a drip system.
My neighbor bought the expensive black hoses w/ the holes in them for her drip system & they're alreay dry~rot'g from the heat here (100 ~ 130). Granted it doesnt rain here in Arizona, but yet they r dry~rotting.
So which would b better to use~ Garden Hoses ~the real heavy stuff or the 1 Black Hose that's really tiny w/ a bubbler on the end (dont forget the dirt here isnt Ur every day stuff. It gets heavy & hardens to cement type substance. I already broke a shovel here), or the other Black Hose that's thick & full of holes?

I am buying a new home, just got my inspection report. In the report it stated that the trusses are manufactured and are 24" on center. He said the roof sheathing sags in various sports a little between the trusses but noted this is typical of homes with these type of truss systems. Did not emphasize it as a major concern, but should I be, or this this normal for a manufactured roof truss system?

I was going to use regular drywall for my ceiling until a friend told me that they always use the 4 x 12 sheets of ceiling drywall. Could someone please advise me on this. It's hard enough getting the 4 x 8 sheets up let alone the 4 x 12. Is ceiling drywall really that much better or can I stick with the regular drywall?

The salt caused the surface of my porch to crack and break off. It is concrete and I want to repair it. How do I go about fixing it or repairing it. I was thinking just to use a concrete mix and retrowel it? Not sure what the temperature needs to be outside for concrete to cure and how long it takes to cure. Its +5 degrees celcius outside.
