The salt caused the surface of my porch to crack and break off. It is concrete and I want to repair it. How do I go about fixing it or repairing it. I was thinking just to use a concrete mix and retrowel it? Not sure what the temperature needs to be outside for concrete to cure and how long it takes to cure. Its +5 degrees celcius outside.

Paint the crack with ordinary latex, then make a mix of sand, portland cement 3:1 and add latex to it and some water to suit and immediately apply to the painted spot. That mix will bond to a concrete chip out and stay there forever. And it doesnt cost an arm and a leg either. You dont need any expensive patch stuff.

You can do surface repair the same way. That is like salt damage and flaking.

Do it when its cool, not sunny and keep it moist cover with wet burlap bag or a wet cardboard.

That is about 40 degrees Fahrenheit. It could be a bit warmer, concrete is stronger if it cures a bit higher temp. But like the other answer said the Quikcrete product would be a good choice. Check the bag it should have optimal temps on it, maybe wait for a warmer day.

Quickrete makes products just for this problem. It involves a primer, and a resurface coat. Just troweling concrete over the top, will not work. It will flake off.
