I live at an apartment complex that is horrible for mold, its everywhere, but I've figured out how to manage it everywhere but in the cement. My cats like to go outside, so I need to be able to safely remove it so that it does hurt them.

Use bleach and then let it dry and air out thoroughly before the cats go out. You might also want to mop the concrete with rinse water just once at it has dried with the bleach on it. You do not want to rinse the bleach off becaue the mold will come right back. You might also check with your vet just to be sure that the cats will be fine. I do wish you the very best.

Use a bleach and hot water solution, let it sit on the concrete awhile, or scrub with a brush if you have to~and then rinse and rinse and rinse really good. That will take care of it:)
~~Have you talked to your landlord about this problem?? That isn't good or SAFE to have such a problem with mildew/mold everyplace~major health hazzard~he should do something to fix your problem, and is probably legally responsible to do so.
Good Luck!!

Go to any hardware store and buy TSP (trisodium Phosphate) put on rubber gloves and read the directions are you mix it with water....ask the clerk or read the directions. It will remove all the mildew and your kittys will be safe after it dries good! Good Luck. I have used white vinegar and bleach but it did not work as good!!

Pressure washer will do it. Then go to a home store and see what products they suggest to prevent the mold from growing back. I know they make a sealer to seal the concrete and that would help prevent it.

sure we are talking mold , you can kill this with a proprietary fungicide , and if it is really bad you might have to do this a few times. So if you wish to get rid of it then no more balcony for at least a week.
