Try letting it soak in the washer with a lot vinegar in the water..that should remove the odors. Then after you've let it soak and finished the wash cycle..wash it again with Gain with Bleach..it's color-safe and won't fade it..I swear by the stuff~LOVE IT! And then use Downy in your rinse cycle. That ought to the trick!!
Good Luck!!

Well I am sorry to say but detergents will not get out bad smells alone out of comforters, you have to use a Vinegar rinse in your rinse water, try adding one cup to your rinse water and your comforter will come out soft and odor free. Good Luck !

You could always try pinesol or lysol disinfectant....and if the smell comes out in the wash then wash them over in cheer and in the rinse add downey or bounce or use the sheets of downey or bounce in your dryer! Good Luck!!!

Tide with Bleach (safe for colors) ... wash on HOT water.... and rinse in warm.... then use fabric softener (downy is what I like best) and let soak in the 'rinse' for awhile...
and dry in the dryer

I like Tide. You could also soak for a while in OxiClean, then run through a normal wash cycle.
