It wears off over time, however if you want to remove it now, you can use comet and water. Gently scrub with a wash cloth. You shouldn't need a lot. It should come off without any problems. If it feels dry after wards, use pure cocoa butter as a moisturizer.

Use any type of hand or body lotion. Rub lotion into the marker stain, then rinse with soap and water while rubbing away the marker stain. Repeat these steps until the marker stain fades, and rinses away. It may take awhile, (esp. depending on skin tone). The idea is to lift the marker ink out of the skin using the oil in the lotion, not rub the stain in deeper. Because you are using lotion, the soap will not dry your skin out as much. Anything left over usually fades over time. I don't know if it works if you get permanent marker on your nails though. Good luck!

I've used Sharpie markers for temporary tattoos. They wear off with normal soap and water in no time. Avoid harsh chemicals on a childs skin, wait and use normal skin soaps--it will be gone soon. Usually within three days.

There are a number of remedies. I think the alcohol is best. You can use hairspray, nail polish remover as well. Nail polish remover is very strong and will dry out the skin, so will alcohol, the hair spray will be sticky, but at least it may not damage the skin as much.

When I need to get sharpie off my skin I use nail polish remover and it works pretty good. Im not sure if that would be appropriate on a child. It would depend how much you would need to get off. If its a small mark Im sure its fine, but if its all over the place I suggest you dont.
