My wife is a MESSY person. Her concept of clean is far from what I consider clean. She'll tell me the house is in good shape, but when I come home I am appalled. How do I get her to change her ways? I am tired of doing all the cleaning and fighting about it as well. HELP!

...unless she "sees" the mess from her prospective she won't believe it no matter what you say... she needs to hear from "other" witnesses.... invite her friends to "rate the house" but be careful... she might "pan-wack-you"...good luck...

Good Luck!!!

Most likely she won't change until she sees it as a problem. I'm guessing that there's only a small chance it'll get fixed.

Yes, you could have someone else come over to mention how gross the "xyz" is. OR, watch some episodes of some "extreme make-over" home shows, and when a diry room comes into view, say "hey, that's just like OUR kitchen"; maybe buy that episode online, and then make a slideshow of some of those scenes, putting the other place on half the screen, and your place on the other half. It may make a difference once it's viewed in that light...

Alternative.....
You think that she's very messy. You both may be at opposite ends of the spectrum. She may think you're obsessive over having your kitchen cleaner than an operating room. Maybe there's some room for comprimise. Maybe you can each clean different areas/rooms, or you can each do different portions of the cleaning. She can vacuum, you can do dishes?

There's really nothing you can do she is this way and you are the way you are you can't change any one the more you fight about it the more messy she will get the more upset you will get and before lone you two will split

She may not honestly know how to clean. You could try to teach her your cleaning habits and she might catch on. You could also try to con her into it with favors. that is a tough situation though good luck.
