I am shopping for a new comforter, and everything bores me. I like bright colors and funky prints. I like bohemian and exotic styles. Does anyone know of a good website? I have found nothing using the search engine.

One of the houses that I clean has a glass shower door which seems impossible to clean. I have tried many different things and it almost appears that the water spots are "inside" the glass. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!

I'm finishing my basement and need to fit a hallway, closet, and bathtub (running long direction) in a tight space. Total distance stud to stud is 10'6". I've decided that rather than create an unusable closet or an extremely narrow hall, I'll use a short tub. This is for a guest room so it won't get a ton of use anyway.

I was initially thinking that a 54" tub would be cheaper than a 60" tub - seems to make sense, right? Wrong! The only cast iron tub that I've found this far is from Kohler and is nearly twice the cost of the similar 60" tub!

Any suggestions on other tubs? I plan to tile the walls, so I'd prefer something nice. Cast Iron is preferred over acrylic. An extra deep tub would be really great.

Thanks in advance!

I need to instal a new shower cubicle in my bathroom. I can keep the actual shower head where it is & have found a shower tray & cubicle costing about £300. Could someone advise me how much it will cost for me to hire someone to take out te existing cubicle and instal the new one? Just a rough estimate would be really helpful.

I came home from work, only to notice it's raining in my garage. I ran upstairs to notice that the old pipe under my sink was busted and flowing water for hours. I have an air vent right under my sink so all the water poured into the air conditioning vent, and the base of the air conditioning vent goes to the garage. The damage wasn't hard to fix, just replaced the old rusty pipe with a PVC pipe, what really worries me are the ceilings of the garage. Almost the whole ceiling is a yellowish color now and I don't know if the air conditioning vents will mold or not.

I called up commercial help and they said they will have to remove the entire ceiling, remove all the vents and replace it with new ones and told me it will cost over 5000$. I don't have that kind of money, shouldn't a heavy duty dehumidifier do the job?

my detector went off. The fire dept. came and maintenance shut off the furnace. They are installing a new one tomorrow. For me or anyone else who may have this problem in the future, answer this.

I would like to hang a wash basin to a solid wall. The basin is a fairly heavy ceramic one. Will I need to buy special brackets or just big bolts for the wall to hold it's weight? what's the best way to go about it?

Thank You in advance

I have some copper pipes used for forced hot water heat that run in an unheated area behind an upstairs wall. I want to insulate the pipes because the heat they throw off cause ice dams on my roof, and also, I want to save money by keeping the heat in and prevent them from possibly freezing. I've seen three types of insulation for pipes:
- a styrofoam kind that is very cheap in price.
- a rubber kind that is expensive but looks to be higher quality.
- a fiberglass kind that is just a bit less expensive than the rubber kind.
I'm not sure what is the best type to keep the heat in the pipes and protect them from freezing as well.

I'm going to buy a house that's got a couple problems with it. It's in Michigan and one of the problems is that there's either been termite or water damage to one of the support beams in the basement. It's a section about a foot long or so (I'm not very knowledgeable about this sort of thing) It's already been fortified by the previous owner so that it no longer supports weight on that part.

I had an inspector who priced the required work at about $1500. Does this seem correct? It shouldn't be a problem getting to the area either.
