I live with four other people in a fairly big house, I need to know what the average our gas and electricity should be costing per month is.

For gas & Electrics, my last 2 monthly bill came to £442. 76 or £ 221.38 per month. I would point out that this was for the period--Dec./Jan. I worked out that the average monthly bill would be £173.75.

In the Midwest I pay 175 month gas and 100 month electric(gas Heat furnace) but in the summer my gas is 35 and electric is 150.

I live in a similar set up and electricity costs us £120 a month and gas about £65 a month. We are not that cost consious with power and I expect we could cut down. UK

If you all work in the daytime, use energy efficient lights and turn everything off when you don't need it, I would expect you to be spending something like £50/month on gas and about the same on electric. That's assuming you use gas for heating and cooking, and electric for TV, lighting, laundry, etc.

However it is really just guess based on the sparse information that you provided...

It depends on who your provider is, where you live, how you will pay the bills (direct debit is usually cheapest) and how much is used. To find the cheapest for you, go onto the Energywatch website.
