Whenever you get a nice flower bulb at the store, its usually pretty big and it always flowers biggest the first year... like tulips do... and then smaller the older they are. I know that sometimes these bulbs divide - but then they are smaller than the originals. So, where do the big new ones come from? Can I somehow make my own from bulbs that I have planted now? Thanks.

A small glass jar went into our kitchen garbage disposal. As soon as I turned it on I heard an odd noise and so I stopped it and looked into the sink using gloves. I found broken pieces of the glass. I took a lot of them out- as many as I could. But there are a few still remaining and I'm guessing a few went into the pipe. Should I be worried? I looked and there did not seem to be an easy way to access the cavity where the glass shreds are - unless I call a plumber. Tight on money. Will call plumber if needed, but dont want to uneccessarily shell out dough. I'm guessing the pipes are copper -- so nothing should get cut. I'm in a 12 year old house.

It's messy. Please? I have homework. And a life. And I don't feel like using up my time or my Concerta. Please! I beg you. Do it with your mind. You would be helping out a messy little fourteen year old asian child. I'll help you with your math homework if you do. I'll give you rides on my bicycle. I'll play the piano for you.

I have boxes of books that I have saved for the day when I could move into a house with lots of room for them, but here I am still living in a small apartment and hardly able to move for all these boxes. The boxes are heavy! I don't want to just give them away, because now we are in the tech age and probably they will become valuable (one day everything will be on disks, I suspect). But since I don't know when I'll get that house, should I give away a potential fortune anyway?

We have overhanging eaves on our house and there are vent holes about 1 ft. apart with screening on the inside. Birds have pulled away the screening on 2 holes and have built nests for the past 2 years inside the eaves. I can't figure out how to put new screening up on the interior without taking the eaves apart. If I put screening on the outside, it will look hideous.

Someone suggested spraying your lawn with ammonia to give it a good boost before fertilizing. Does anyone know what the ratio is when you put it into a hose end sprayer?

I want to have the walls repainted with a pale yellow high quality paint. Is it necessary to paint the walls with a primer first? I would like to be able to avoid repainting for 8-10 years if possible but don't want to have to pay for the primer phase if it's not necessary. Thanks.

He only runs around inside the walls...never comes out, even at night. We can hear him scratching around in there, and chewing on the studs and insulation.Probably has a little nest built!

We've put out snap traps, glue boards with cheese and peanut butter, D-CON, etc. He never finds the traps because he never leaves the inside of the walls!

We have two indoor cats. Both of them (when they hear him scratching inside the walls) start going nuts and begin pawing at the wall he is behind. If was going to come out, they'd have him!

Why won't he come out from inside the walls??? How can I get this little moron before he (or she) starts a little family of rodents inside my wall!!!

My roof hangs over the house about 3 feet and there is a wire that runs underneath the roof. The wire is connected directly from the electric meter, which is located inside our house, to the utility pole that right next to my home. Everyday, several pigeons would hang around on the wire and make a huge and digusting mess right at my door steps. We had tried spraying water, throwing pebbles, and even shooting plastic BB pellets, but non of them worked. They would taunt us by coming back in few hours. The war games with the pigeons have been going on for more than a year. We checked the whole house and there are no nesting. Does anyone know of a safe and inexpensive solution to this problem?
