Actually your Furnace may be the issue. Natural Gas has always been, and always will be a bargain compared to heating oil.
Produces water? Hmm I'm curious. Do you mean it CREATES water? Heats your water? Creates Steam heat?

Certainly get with your service provider for advice and an inspection, and/or the manufacturer.

If you have one that produces water, your unit must be at least 92% effecient. Some questions I would have is your home well insulated? Most heat escapes through the roof. The other thing I would check is if your gas meter is reading properly. Did you check with your local utility? What kind of water heater do you use? If it is gas don't forget your water heating gas bill is on top of the add consumption on your furnace. Is your air filter clean? That is critical on the newer furnaces to maintain. Have you contacted your installer, I assume you had this professionally installed?

Make sure your house is well insulated, and that it is vented properly so that it can breathe. Your duct work also plays a major role. I strongly suggest metal duct work and whats known as a trunk line. Make sure you have adequate return lines. Any heating and cooling professional can answer these questions by looking at your existing condition. If there is a problem in any of these areas your new furnace wont be efficient. And while they are out there have them check your furnace to make sure its installed correctly.

Now..Ask me again why I live in New Orleans. It was 75 here today, and I had fresh boiled crabs for lunch. There is a way to answer your question. Look at your bill. It should tell you how many cu. ft. of gas you used. Compare that to the manufacturer specs. on your unit. Add in your water heater (I know it is not a "Hot Water Heater"), and you should be close. If not, look for leaks, but not with a lit match!
