Someone suggested spraying your lawn with ammonia to give it a good boost before fertilizing. Does anyone know what the ratio is when you put it into a hose end sprayer?

When you go on Jerry Baker's website, they want you to buy books, etc.

I have been using it for years and it will not kill the lawn. I put about one cup per 5000 sq ft of lawn in a hose end sprayer. Jerry Baker the master gardener came up with this. Do a yahoo search for Jerry Baker the master gardener.

I do have the information ..... somewhere. Jerry Baker is the answer. If I remember correctly you mix the ammonia with dish soap and spray on your lawn, sorry I don't remember the ratio though.

No way do you spray ammonia on your lawn.I've heard of spraying a little bit of dish soap before fertilizing but not ammonia. The ratio would not be more than 1/4 to 1/3 of the cup for dish soap.Supposedly adding beer to this will kill bugs but to me this seems to be a waste of perfectly good beer .Better to drink the beer and then you won't care about the bugs anymore.

Farmers us it all the time, I believe they inject it right into the soil. perhaps a fertilizer dealer will know a recipe. or Tractor Supply Corp
