I have a grease stain on my new shirt, but I washed and dried it before I realized it was even stained (I'm rather oblivious sometimes). Everything I read says I'm out of luck. Is there anything I can do? I love this shirt. It's 100% cotton if that matters... help!

We are thinking about buying a home that has two types of trees in the front yard. One is a taller, green tree. The other is a shorter, purple tree. Please see photo: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v412/SG1977/yardtrees.jpg

The taller trees have brown spiked balls on their branches. If you know what these are, can you tell me anything about these or the purple tree (ie. do they bloom or change colors with the seasons, is there any special maintenance, etc). Thank you...

My backyard is all dirt.. very, very hard dirt. I would like to grow grass and will be doing it myself to save money. How do I break up that hard dirt? Is there a tool or machine? After that is done (the hard part) do I just lay seed and manure on top? Then water? Could I possibly find someone that will just break up the dirt and prepare it for me so I can plant... how much do you think that would cost? I am in southern CA.

Bought an Apex TV 18 mos ago. Fell asleep watching it. When I woke up it was off. Tried to turn it back on. Still does not work. Move it to another power source still won't come on.
What could it be?

I wash my color clothes in cold water and white in hot, usually w/ bleach. Even with fabric softener, my clothes never smell is fresh as I like them to. Any advice?

The heating element in my humidifier always gets mineral build-up. The directions tell say to clean it once a week, but they never tell you what you are supposed to use to clean it. On top of that, I can never find the stuff they recommend at the store. I would rather not use CLR or other chemicals to clean it since they run in my kids rooms. Do you have any suggestions for a natural way to clean them that works well to get the deposits to shed away?

I'm going to be remodeling my bathroom in a couple of months. I'm going with beige wall and floor tiles, so I need something that won't clash. I realize that the brushed nickel finish is "in" right now, but when a decorating trend has been "in" for this long, generally it's due to be "out" any time now (remember, avocado green was once popular!). Anybody know what the next up and coming finish is in hardware?

This damage was done by him banging on my door when my daughter refused to open it during a fight they were having...he is 19 and she is 21....
He tells her to fix it with the money he gave her to buy her some clothes. Actually the door is in need of replacement. I have told her to tell him that. She says he says for her to fix it. Is this the right way for him to handle this Should my daughter be the one to fix it. I think he should just get me a new door. He also has punched in five other holes in my daughters room, he has not fix any of those. So what should I do? Thanks.

I always wash bottles and tins etc out before putting them in my recycling collection as I thought you had to. My partner is Spanish and in Spain you don't have to clean them first.

Some plastic and glass bottles are impossible to clean ie oil bottles with a narrow opening.

What to do?
