I have this horrible 4"x4" white ugly tile in my bathroom. I would like to know if you can place 12"x12" self adhesvie laminate tiles over them.

Maybe you can tell me what I can put over them instead of carpeting.

No, peel and stick tiles will not adhere to the surface of the tile in an area that gets steamy and wet. There are foam backed vinyl products that are designed to "loose lay" on your floor in the bath. They are approx. 1/4" thick and the foam is dense enough to prevent transfer of the tile pattern trough to the face of the foam backed vinyl. Cheap and easy. Fiberglass walls are available for installation in your tub and shower stall that you can install yourself at the home centers. Clean, bright, and cheap.

Good luck with your bath. Bleaching and sealing the white grout may also spruce up your bath.

Sorry but you will end up with a ugler (lack of a better term) mess in the end The new tile will stick to the ceramic tile itself BUT the grout in between the ceramic tile is made up of sand . If an edge of the new tile fell in line with the grout line it will not stick to the grout and it will peal up The best way to do a floor is to redo it Try this If there is a window in the bathroom open it you will need to ventilate the bathroom take some Clorox Bleach and poor it directly on the ceramic tile take a scrub brush and scrub the grout lines( if they are brown due to dirt) they will turn bright white this will make the bathroom look much better hope this helps

Self adhesive tiles have one main problem. Anytime they are used in an area like the bathroom where steam from showers and such is present. They never stick properly to the surface below them. Putting them over existing tile would make them stick even less, since the tiles have the lowered grout lines, where the moisture can seep in even easier. You might be better off painting them with a good quality paint if they are on the walls, or carpet the floor. Hope this helps

Yes if you use self leveling concrete first to fill and level the surface. Make sure the scree is self leveling or you will have a mess on your hands. Good Luck!
