I have a grease stain on my new shirt, but I washed and dried it before I realized it was even stained (I'm rather oblivious sometimes). Everything I read says I'm out of luck. Is there anything I can do? I love this shirt. It's 100% cotton if that matters... help!

Looks like Dawn Dish Detergent may help you, even for old grease stains.

No your not out of luck. Take the shirt, make a paste of laundry detergent let it soak in and dry, then wash it. If that hasn't taken care of it, but some of that pre-wash stuff, I use the spray and wash stick and rub it in good and then just leave until your next laundry. That gets mine out most of the time. Good Luck.

iron the stained part of the shirt with a paper bag over the top of the grease. Always works for me. start with a cool iron and work up to hot to avoid burning it. good luck

try with some baking powder make a little paste , don´t add to much water to the baking powder as it will just fizz .leave it like this ,say for 20 min´s then wash with a little of your own hair shampoo . It´s begging to surprise many of us here just how good our own shampoo really is. rinse then wash on a low temp . you don´t wont the grease to go further in . keep trying it should come out . my husband dropped some olive oil on one of his woolen jumper´s and I manage to get it out

You may still save it by using Spray n Wash DUAL POWER and then soaking it in OXI Power detergent. Read the instructions on both.

I'd try again. Spray the area with Shout, or some pre-wash spray, work it in for a minute, then wash again.

If it is a favorite, don't give up. Try the toothbrush thing. You can try awsome or if the shirt is white you can use a toothbrush with some bleach. You can also try dieing it.

You may be SOL. But before you give up completely, try one of those little spot remover pens. Those things are pretty good, and it certainly can't hurt to try.
